Teaching Your Staff to Use Commercial Kitchen Equipment

If there is one mistake that we feel like a lot of newbie restaurateurs end up making, it’s that they fail to give their staff the requisite training when it comes to using the high end equipment they have purchased. There is a pretty good chance that you have purchased really expensive commercial kitchen equipment to optimize the overall performance of your restaurant, but suffice it to say that until and unless your staff knows how to use it, the fact of the matter is that it is more or less useless for you regardless of its quality.

This is because of the fact that commercial kitchen equipment is a lot more technical and complicated than your run of the mill kitchen appliances. It might seem ridiculous to you to shut down your place of business and lose out on revenue so that you can train your staff, but failing to do so would result in even worse financial damage down the line.

A staff that can’t use the equipment is a reputational risk for you, so taking a bit of time out actually makes a lot of sense. Your staff will also be able to work in a much calmer and more relaxed manner which will reduce the likelihood of them making any kinds of mistakes at all. They need to be able to work in a stress free environment to do well.
